We report new observations of the northern roAp star HD 12098, discovered by Martinez et al. (2000). In particular we report the detection of the longitudinal magnetic field and describe characteristics of the optical spectrum. We request continued monitoring of the longitudinal field of this object in order to determine its rotational period and magnetic field geometry.
