Radio Telescopes: Antennas, Sensitivities: Antennas
Scientific paper
The relation between the sensitivity and the antenna aperture of a radio
telescope (especially for solar radio observation) is analyzed. It is
pointed out that the sensitivity approaches a limit value as the antenna
aperture is increased. It is not effective to improve the sensitivity of
a radio telescope only with further increasing the antenna aperture.
