This paper describes the development of a real-time, six-feature algorithm for all-sky star-field identification, which takes into account faulty input data, reference table errors, and systematic errors induced by instruments. An oriented star triplet defined by the visual magnitudes, celestial coordinates, and three stars is the minimum identifiable star pattern element.
