The brightest part of the H II region NGC 604 has been repeatedly observed in the ultraviolet range, in low resolution, with IUE. The ultraviolet spectra of NGC 604 are fitted with synthetic spectra, a mixture of O and B early type stars and WR stars. The observed spectra of NGC 604 can be satisfactorily fitted to the synthetic spectra not only in the continuum but also in the stellar emission and absorption features.
