The most important of the theories proposed as alternatives to Einstein's theory, is the scalar-tensor theory proposed by Brans and Dicke (1961). Barber (1982) has modified the Brans-Dicke theory to allow for the continuous creation of matter, and has developed a continuous creation theory. The present investigation is concerned with an introduction of Raychaudhuri-type equations in this theory. A general result for spatially homogeneous stationary cosmological models is proved, and Hawking-Penrose energy conditions are discussed. Attention is given to the homogeneous cosmological models in the self-creation theory, taking into account the field equations in the theory proposed by Barber.
