The paper investigates conditions of bremsstrahlung from relativistic electrons intersecting the interface of a hydrogen-helium plasma in the atmosphere of a neutron star. The presence of the interface is found to lead to the generation of intense bremsstrahlung. Numerical calculations show that this model may be able to account for certain pulsar characteristics.
