During a balloon observation on October 18, 1977, the high energy X-ray spectrum (20 to 90 keV) of Cyg X-3 was measured with high statistical accuracy. It was found to be consistent with a thermal bremsstrahlung spectrum with kT = 17.5 + 3.1 or - 2.6 keV or a power low E to the minus gamma of the differential photon flux spectrum with gamma equal to 3.6 + or - 0.3. The extrapolation of the observed spectrum to 100 MeV yields a gamma ray intensity which is at least three orders of magnitude below the intensity found by SAS-2. This indicates that the overall spectral behavior of Cygnus X-3 is much different from that of the Crab and Vela pulsars.
