At a temperature well above minimum, so that hydrogen is mainly ionized
and diffuses negligibly into magnetic tubes, helium can still be mainly
neutral, so that chemical differentiation could occur. Calculation shows
that the rate is too small to account for variations in chemical
abundance found in the solar wind.
