It is now more than 45 years since Pauli1 (1930) and Fermi2 (1933)
formulated the neutrino hypothesis and 25 years since Clyde Cowan and I
and our colleagues at Los Alamos3-5 made the first, tentative
observation of the free neutrino at a Hanford reactor via the inverse
beta process ν+Pip-->n+e+.
