A non-relativistic quantum particle is considered in the background gravitational field due to a tubular matter source with an axial interior magnetic field and a vanishing exterior magnetic field which is a solution of the combined Einstein Maxwell fields with cylindrical symmetry. In this background gravitational field we analyse the problem concerning the scattering. In a simplified model in which the gravitational field inside the tubular matter source is not taken into account, we also study the problem concerning the scattering and the modifications of the spectra of a particle in the presence of the gravitational self-interaction potential induced by this background.
