The problem of triple collisions is analyzed employing a simple change of variables that is especially adapted to the phenomenon. On a triple collision trajectory, it is shown that as the temporal variable approaches plus infinity, each point tends toward a unique and well determined equilibrium position of the system, and that this position corresponds in space to a homothetic motion of null energy. Therefore, in the case of a nonaligned triple collision, the three body configuration tends toward an equilateral triangle.
