The limit that Bohm set in 1961 on the information concerning the source function extractable from stellar limb-darkening analysis in the presence of noise is found to be much too low. The regularization method is here used to solve numerically the integral equation relating the brightness distribution across a stellar disk to the source function. With this technique one can recover the source function over a wide range in optical depth even if the noise level on the data is quite high.
