The theory of inflation explains many of the observed features of our universe. A number of observations -- particularly of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) -- have confirmed aspects of this theory over the last decade. What is next for inflation and how will upcoming observations of the CMB teach us even more about this theory of the early universe? I highlight some of the results expected in the coming decade: of special interest are upcoming measurements of the polarization of the CMB. These may well pin down the physics governing inflation.
