Propagation of cosmic-ray particles in an arbitrary magnetic field with a characteristic inhomogeneity scale many times greater than the particle scattering mean free path is examined. The diffusion coefficient averaged over a large volume of space is calculated which results from the local diffusion tensor. For the case where the longitudinal component of the random galactic magnetic field is 50% greater than the regular field, the ratio between the transverse and longitudinal diffusion coefficients is estimated to be about 0.7.
