I REPORT here some preliminary results of a statistical study of the spatial distribution of pulsars in the galaxy which have direct relevance to the pulsar-supernova hypothesis and to certain features in the observed distribution of pulsar galactic latitudes. I present evidence that most pulsars may have been formed in Type II supernova explosions and initially possessed extremely high velocities, of order 1,000 km s-1. On this basis, four new pulsar-supernova identifications are suggested.
