Supersonic jets are produced by Young Stars and Active Nuclei of Galaxies and propagate over large scales into a surrounding medium which is, in general, non-homogeneous. Previous 3-D numerical simulations were performed for jets propagating solely in homogeneous ambient media. We here present fully 3-D hydrodynamical simulations of jets propagating in more realistic atmospheres containing positive and negative pressure and density gradients.
