The connection between entropy and nucleosynthesis is discussed. It is shown that the entropy per baryon is one of three parameters that characterize the end products of any type of nucleosynthesis process. The other two parameters are the neutron richness and the dynamical timescale. Several examples are given to illustrate how entropy provides a unifying concept for understanding nucleosynthesis.
