The main refractive indices and the corresponding birefringences of some inorganic anizotropic crystals from Southern Carpathian rocks were measured. The interferometric measurements were verified by using a compensatory method. The obtained results were also correlated with the crystalline structure and the chemical composition of the investigated anisotropic crystals.
