The charge symmetry which is one of the most important characteristics of the nuclear force, implies σ(γ,p)/σ(γ,n)= ~ 1.1 in the GDR range, with the slight deviation from unity being due to the contributions of the coulomb interaction. The 4H(γ,n) reaction have been measured to try to resolve this discrepancy using the tagged photon facility at Maxlab (Lund, Sweden).
