It is noted that the 'record' for the strongest magnetic fields in the universe is held by certain neutron stars. This paper reviews a number of questions related to neutron-star magnetic fields, including the reasons why these stars have fields of such intensity; the magnetic fields of radio pulsars; the spectroscopy of X-ray pulsars; and the magnetic fields of X-ray pulsars.
