The A-type supergiants in the SMC with abnormally strong Balmer lines do
not have markedly different infrared fluxes from normal SMC A-type
supergiants. Infrared observations of some moderately reddened A
supergiants show that the ratio of total to selective absorption in the
SMC is 3.1, close to the galactic value.
