A fifth measurement of the solar ultraviolet irradiance at 40 km in the stratosphere has been added to four earlier ones. It confirms the previously published conclusion that photospheric solar irradiance in the range 2350-2870 A has been essentially constant during the current solar activity cycle. Chromospheric emissions seen in the Mg II line cores increased during rising activity and decreased again as the activity declined.
