A method is developed for the calculation of the conformal cartographic projections of a triaxial ellipsoid (suitable for the mapping of the satellites of Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn) which does not require the explicit introduction of isometric coordinates. Equations are derived for calculating the coordinates of projection points and for determining distortions in the projection.
