Near nucleus CCD images of Comet Halley were taken from 10 Dec. of 1985 through 20 Jan. 1986, using 188 and 60 cm telescopes. The southward jet phenomenon is found to have 7 to 8 day period from the morphology. There are at least two sources of southward jets. The strength of the jet activity changed in each event, which implies that the rotational motion of the nucleus is not simple but complicated, including precessional motion.
