An evolutionary scenario for PU Vul (Kuwano-Honda object) behavior
beginning from 1978 is discussed. The star is identified as a very slow
nova. It passed through phases of outburst, almost constant brightness
with small amplitude quasiperiodic oscillations, and expansion of the
dusty envelope.
