The mean phase magnitudes at the IV waveband (1.05 micron) of thirteen Cepheids in the SMC and the LMC and nine Cepheids in groups and clusters in the Galaxy, are used in conjunction with periods, to construct P-L(IV) relations in these galaxies. The slopes and the dispersions of the relations are nearly the same. The authors derives a distance modulus of 19.11±0.07 for the SMC and 18.82±0.07 for the LMC.
