We present the results of an investigation of the X-ray and UV properties of four LINERs oberved with Swift, aimed at constructing good S/N and strictly simultaneous UV-X-ray SEDs and thus testing the findings of Maoz (2007), that LINERs are powered by the same mechanism active in higher luminosity AGNs (Seyferts and QSOs). In this scenario, the accretion processes that illuminate low-and high-luminosity AGNs are the same, but they produce different amounts of power and different emission intensities. If this unifying picture is confirmed, a revision of the LINERs paradigm, i.e., that LINERS are dominated by geometrically thick, radiatively inefficient radiation flows (RIAF) as opposed to radiatively efficient, geometrically thin accretion disks known to power higher luminosity AGNS, is called for.
