Scientific paper

The metallicity distribution function of 502 F, G, K dwarfs has been
constructed from metallicities determined by UBV photometry. The
metallicity function indicates that there is the deficiency of stars
with metallicity values nearly -0.2 and -0.5 in the solar neighbourhood.
