We present approximate solutions to the equations of motion for a ray of light in the Kerr metric which are correct up to and including second-order terms in m/rmin and a/rmin, where m and a are the Kerr mass and spin, respectively, while rmin is the distance of closest approach. We use these expressions to investigate the multi-imaging aspect of the gravitational lens effect.
