The generation of X-ray sources in close binary systems is studied. It
is proposed that one of the stars is a white dwarf and it is accreting
material from its companion. The entire treatment applies to the
sphericaly symmetric and the stationary case. The model of this type
accounts qualitatively for the observed nature of SCO X-1.
