THERE have been many articles recently on the interpretation of certain anomalous effects observed in frequency and inter-planetary time delay measurements in terms of the interaction of gravitational and electromagnetic fields1-6. Usually the proposed explanations are inconsistent with the general theory of relativity2,5,7,8, and often the predicted effects do not match the measurements. We show here that in the interpretation of the anomalous phenomena there is no need to contradict general relativity and the different measurements can be reconciled4,9,10.
