Scientific paper

We find solutions of Einstein's equation representing a gravitational
wave interacting with a cosmic-string traveling wave. The motion of test
cosmic strings in the gravitational field of a cosmic-string traveling
wave is also examined. A solution representing traveling waves on
several parallel cosmic strings is also found.
