A regression relationship between the Sigma Kp index and solar-wind parameters is confirmed and refined. In addition, a regression relationship between the Sigma Kp index on a given day and the solar-wind velocity on subsequent days is obtained and interpreted. This relationship can be used for the short-term prediction of the solar-wind velocity according to values of the Sigma Kp index.
