The present investigation studied the relation between solar proton flares and associated optical radio and hard X-ray events. It was found that proton flares are usually associated with large optical flares in H-alpha and long-duration type II and IV, microwave and hard X-ray bursts. The summation curve analysis shows that a sharp rise in the cumulative flares index seems to be prerequisite for the occurrence of proton flares. The correlation studies between proton flares and microwave and proton flares and hard X-ray have also ben carried out. The results obtained in the present analysis may be used to predict solar proton flares.
