A base curve for X-ray emission flux density FX(B-V) is determined by
comparing chromospheric and coronal activity indices of 50 main-sequence
F-K-type stars. The form of this curve does not contradict the
hypothesis of the same coronal-heating mechanism for quiet and active
stars.
