The damping process for ultrarelativistic plane, cylindrical, and spherical waves is investigated using a model of the asymptotic degeneration of the shock wave in a quasi-acoustic wave. Simple formulas are obtained for the dependence of parameters of a shocked gas as functions of the distance of the shock front from the source. General relations for the derivatives of the flow parameters are obtained, and these general relations are used as a basis to examine the problem of asymptotic laws of the shock-wave decay specializing to the case of an ultrarelativistic gas.
