Formation of metal-rich globular cluster populations (MRGCPs) in the bulges of spirals and ellipticals is addressed. I summarize basic results which can be indirect evidence that the formation of these populations is preferably related to certain stage of the host galaxies' (chemical?) evolution. Attention is paid to massive star cluster populations (MSCPs) in nearby (dwarf) irregulars. Mean metallicities of MSCPs preferably fall between 0.004
