The central regions of M82 contain numerous massive clusters many of which are heavily obscured. We have obtained spectra for several infrared-bright clusters covering wavelengths from about 0.8 to 2.5 micrometers. We discuss the stellar populations derived from these and uncertainties on the resulting stellar mass due to parameters other than the stellar IMF (stellar properties extinction). These aspects are important in the interpretation of measurements of the dynamical cluster masses which are becoming available and currently indicate a top-heavy IMF (e.g. Smith and Gallagher 2001).
