The past few years have seen a breakthrough in observing oscillations in solar-type stars. We now have moved from ambiguous detections to firm measurements, and there are now several stars for which numerous oscillation frequencies have been measured. I will review the recent results from high-precision Doppler measurements on stars such as α Centauri A and B, τ Ceti and the planet-hosting star μ Arae. Asteroseismology has moved from dream to reality and the prospects are very exciting.
