Spectroscopic and photometric observations of the recently discovered UX UMa star PHL 227 are presented. An orbital period of 0.1356±0.0006 day results from the radial velocities of the Hα and Hβ emission lines. The light curve shows pronounced variations presumably of irregular nature. Coherent rapid oscillations with a period of 19.6 s were detected.
