A procedure for calculating heights in the lunar limb region from observations of star occultations by the moon is outlined. The free term in the error equations is a function of several corrections, but it was found that in solving the equation it was only necessary to introduce corrections to the position of the moon, to reduce the star positions to the system of the FK-4 catalog, and to make corrections for the observer's reaction. The method was applied to about 8600 occultation events, and the resulting maps are in satisfactory agreement with maps referred to the center of the moon.
