It is shown that radio observations of Tycho's supernova remnant indicate the presence of a collisionless shock wave undergoing turbulent magnetic field amplification. Estimates of Mach number and the preshock ratio of thermal to magnetic pressure (beta) for Tycho's supernova remnant, by analogy with observed shock waves in the solar system, support this conclusion. The required increase in the magnetic field, determined from estimates of particle energy and total supernova energy and on the assumption of no energy in relativistic protons, is a factor of 20, which is comparable to that observed in high-beta bow shocks.
