Elements with a first ionization potential (FIP) below 10eV are enriched in the solar corona and solar energetic particles relative to photospheric abundances by a factor of ~4. We concluded earlier that Xe (FIP = 12.1 eV) is also enriched relative to Kr (14.0 eV) and Ar (15.8 eV) and that the mean Kr/Xe fractionation is only half as high today as it was 1-3 Ga ago. This conclusion was based on the inference--provided by noble gas data obtained with closed-system etching--that the lunar regolith conserves the relative abundances of Ar, Kr, and Xe unaltered. Here we provide further evidence for this with analyses of all five noble gases in single grains of two lunar soil samples.
