The X-ray observations (0.1 to 9 keV) of the cataclysmic variable KO Vel (E1013-477) made with EXOSAT in 1984 are reported. The data shows no obvious evidence for any of the periods proposed for this source from optical observations. An estimate of the spectrum as a flat power law with low interstellar absorption is obtained. The results are discussed in the framework of the classification of the object as a magnetic cataclysmic variable.
