Sodium: Oscillator Strengths, Sodium: Absorption Spectra

Scientific paper

Term energies, oscillator strengths and photoionization cross-sections in the near first ionization threshold from the ground state is calculated in a multiconfiguration approach. Basis functions are obtained with radial orbital wave functions generated through angular momentum dependent Thomas - Fermi - Dirac - Amaldi central field potentials. The method is shown to provide very good results.
