We present the first radial velocity curve for the Hipparcos variable DX
Ceti. Fundamental physical parameters (, , [Fe/H]) are derived using
mean Stromgren indices and recent synthetic colour grids. We suggest
that DX Ceti was misclassified (as belonging to the RRc class) and it is
a monoperiodic, high-amplitude Scuti star.
