Iso, Star Formation: Outflows And Ysos
Scientific paper
I present a preliminary analysis of ISO Archival data (CAM, SWS and LWS) of three of the brightest bipolar outflows HH 1-2, HH 7-11 and Cep E. The goal is to study the spectral signatures and spatial structure of the shock excited gas and dust emission at far infrared wavelengths of these distinct systems, as well as the spectral energy distribution (SED) of their sources. By bringing together all ISO spectroscopic data, we will obtain a more coherent view of the physical processes taking place in embedded outflows. The CAM and SWS data concentrates on the distribution and strength of the pure rotational molecular H2 lines and the SEDs of the sources, while the LWS data focuses mainly on the characteristics of the CO and H2O lines. In many instances fine structure atomic lines also are detected, providing powerful shock diagnostics.
