Direct observations of cosmic ray interactions in emulsion chambers of the JACEE experiment at energies above 1 TeV/nucleon are presented. An analysis of two decays of shortlived particles produced in cosmic ray interactions is described. The known decay modes of bottom and charged particles do not account satisfactorily for the observations. This could possibly indicate a new decay channel of a heavy particle. The JACEE results support the hypothesis of existence of a long-flying component in cosmic ray showers. An interaction event was observed which may be the first direct observation of (mini)anticentauro interaction.
