Scientific paper

The authors consider the problem of constructing a centrosymmetrical model of the radio image of a noncoherent radio source based on the van Cittert-Zernike theorem. They show that it is enough to know the visibility function modulus determined on the (u,v) plane. A new multiring model for the radio image restoration of radio sources based on visibility function measured by radiointerferometric method is proposed. The authors give the algorithm for determination of the number of rings, their angular radii, and flux densities based on Fourier-Bessel series. The radio image of Cas A was restored from measurements performed with the short-base (up to 2000 D/λ) interferometer URAN-3. The model of the large-scale structure deduced from measurements in the metre range, is consistent with results obtained in decametre wavelengths.
