The Keck Telescope is being constructed to be optimized for superb thermal infrared performance. The instrument designers are aware of the importance of exploiting the excellent spatial resolution which will be available, and have selected plate scales appropriately. One remarkable achievement to date has been the agreement that all instruments will use common electronics which will also be housed in the instrument frame. The paper briefly describe the Keck infrared instruments.
